Beaches

Knoll Farm provides an ideal base to enjoy one of the best regions in Britain for a beach holiday. Several Sandy beaches are located within 4 miles. Seven miles of golden sands stretch from Burnham-on-Sea to Brean Down, and immediately to the North lie the beaches of North Somerset.

Burnham on Sea main Beach

(Approximately 4 miles from Knoll Farm)

The award winning main beach at Burnham on Sea offers donkey rides and childrens entertainment in the summer months. It is a predominantly sandy beach, suitable for swimming and paddling and patrolled by lifeguards from 10am to 6pm from May 1st to 30 September.

It is dangerous to approach the Sea on all of Burnham's beaches at low tide. We only recommend swimming on the main beach when life guards are on partrol.

Uphill Beach

(Approximately 5.8 miles from Knoll Farm)

Uphill Beach is a small sandy beach on the north side of Brean Down. Uphill is situated next to the estuary where the River Axe flows into the Bristol Channel. Close to the beach is Uphill Marina overlooking St. Nicholas church, an ancient Norman church situated on Uphill hillside.

Berrow & Brean Beaches

(Approximately 5.9 miles from Knoll Farm)

Berrow & Brean Beach has a six mile length of firm sand, the second longest in Europe.

BerrowBeach features secluded sand dunes and also, the wreck of the Norwegian Barge SS Nornen, driven onto Berrow beach in March 1897.

Brean Beach ends the continuous stretch of beach from Burnham on Sea. Brean Beach is a great family beach with ice creams and fast foods being sold on the beach in the spring and summer.

Weston-super-Mare Beach

(Approximately 5.9 miles from Knoll Farm)

The main beach at Weston-super-Mare is the main beach for tourism in the area. Weston Beach enjoys the longest stretch of firm sand of any of the beaches near Knoll Farm. In the summer a train runs along the sea front and the beach enjoys all of the facilities for a family day out at the beach, including donkey rides and a host of other entertainments along the beach lawns.

Sand Bay

(Approximately 9 miles from Knoll Farm)

Sand Bay beach is adopted by Marine Conservation Society. It is known for its unique character and is designated a Special Site of Scientific Interest due to its international importance for wintering and passage of wading birds
